About the choir

Voices that span centuries
Since 1998, the Australian Byzantine Choir has shared the beauty of Byzantine chant with audiences in Sydney and beyond. It is a living tradition, born in the Byzantine Empire and carried forward today by eighteen dedicated singers.
Our singers come from parishes of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia. As well as performing, we train parish chanters, run community seminars and give our time to charitable work.
